World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For instance an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give an additional stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix that alters the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of an item will be available in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it can be improved upon a reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Certain upgrades also provide an additional bonus when reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.
You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is the most effective way to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values that it can improve a statistic by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs as well as also a few rare glyphs to be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
When you have the desired Glyphs, you will need to place them on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Leveling
The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the power of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires a different amount of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When a player upgrades an item it is replaced with a new item of the same type. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage since the item may increase in price even if you do not need it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with an initial level and a different set of bonuses. This can be beneficial however it should not be repeated often since it can waste resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or swims like a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is extremely useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of the non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The upgrade of items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded up to eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its initial state which means that the player has to pay for more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained, such as the chance to crit damage to attack, other effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or reloading speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded increases its crit chance it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. look at here known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player will have to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
